Camping Trailers: Making Life In the Wild More Comfortable

Available in sizes from 4 feet to over 20 feet, camping trailers can provide many comforts while "roughing it" in the wild. It's no wonder that they are growing in popularity for family camping adventures.

Comforts of Home

Some folks may consider camping trailers as the means of taking everything they may need with them on a camping trip. For the most part, these trailers are for more than just hauling "stuff", as some are designed with beds, tables and in some cases, equipped with small refrigerators and stoves. With an external water connection, camping trailers may also be equipped with a sink and bath facilities to provide additional comfort while on the trip.

Side note: there are many campgrounds that offer water, septic and even electric services for camping trailers, eliminating the need for a lot of batteries or a generator.

Cost Savings

Traveling with camping trailers can also make trips less expensive, eliminating the need to find a motel room for the night. It's easy to find campgrounds where you can park for the night and the next day, be on your way as early (or, as late) as you want.

Travel-Ease

Another plus: camping trailers can be towed to the campground and set up. The towing vehicle can then be disconnected and used for sightseeing trips around the area. This is probably one of the main advantages of using camping trailers instead of recreational vehicles, as not all towns are amenable to having an RV squeeze through the local fast food drive-through.

Some Considerations. . .

From pop-up campers to ready-to-go units, there are different sizes. However, before buying a camping trailer, make sure it will allow the entire family to live comfortably inside. Another consideration is how often the family plans to use the camping trailer. For example, if the trailer will be used infrequently, it just may make better financial sense to explore renting one for the next family camping adventure.

. . . . . . .
